The Long Shadow
“Both brave and incredible… a must-see, over and over again!”
The Long Shadow follows former CNN Senior Producer, TED contributor, and Emmy-Award winning Director Frances Causey and Producer Sally Holst trace their family legacy of white privilege, placing it in the context of the history of anti-black racism in the United States that began with slavery and continues to impact our society today.
The Long Shadow reached over 90% of the country with its National PBS Broadcast and continues to be shared by hundreds of Universities, congregations, community groups, nonprofits, and equity-driven organizations across the country.
“Phenomenal… Every church ought to see this film.”
The most insidious and destructive division in the United States is anti-black racism. We cannot heal this division until we recognize the institutional racism that developed from slavery and Jim Crow laws. In this talk, Frances Causey discusses her experience of witnessing anti-black racism and its bitter effects while growing up in North Carolina.
