The Long Shadow follows former CNN Senior Producer, TED contributor, and Emmy-Award winning Director Frances Causey and Producer Sally Holst trace their family legacy of white privilege, placing it in the context of the history of anti-black racism in the United States that began with slavery and continues to impact our society today.

We cannot heal this division until we recognize the institutional racism that developed from slavery and Jim Crow laws. In this talk, Frances Causey discusses her experience of witnessing anti-black racism and its bitter effects while growing up in North Carolina.
